Toilets are very sensitive, do not flush anything other than provided toilet paper. Guests will be charged if back ups occurs.

It was not the best experience secondary to the management company.
The location was ok. The unit was clean.
We had trouble finding it. The road into the plantation wasn't marked. We thought we were lost. Nowhere in the directions did it say that we were on the Amelia Island plantation. Had we known this, we would have looked for the easily visible sign. When we arrived, the smoke alarm was beeping. I contacted the management, and they asked me to fix it. I had to ask more than once for them to send someone to fix it. We went back and forth, with them saying they didn't have anyone to fix it. We then asked for a refund, or switch us to another unit, and suddenly they "found" someone. We were travel weary and didn't want to listen to that all night. A few days later, we walked into the unit and found 2 men in our unit. They were fixing the ice maker, which also didn't work when we arrived. They said they sent us a message, which I received after they left. Overall, the management company seemed like they weren't quite on top of things. We don't plan to return.

We do want to provide some context regarding the smoke alarm concern. During the busy Mother’s Day weekend, our maintenance team was limited to emergency calls, but we still made every effort to assist you promptly. We initially suggested troubleshooting steps such as using the reset button and replacing the battery, and we also keep spare batteries in the unit for guest convenience. When those steps didn’t resolve the issue, we arranged for a maintenance technician to visit as soon as one became available.
Upon inspection, it turned out that a different smoke alarm in the home was causing the beeping, which is why the earlier troubleshooting attempts did not resolve the problem. We understand how frustrating that must have been and appreciate your patience while we worked to identify and fix the issue.
Regarding the maintenance visit later in your stay, we apologize for the timing of the notification. Our intention is always to communicate clearly and respect our guests’ privacy while ensuring that any reported issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
We also appreciate your feedback about the directions and will review how we can make arrival instructions clearer for future guests.
