Big Fish Getaways “Catch memories, not just fish.” Wake up to the sound of the New River, step outside to fish or kayak, and end your day in a private hot tub overlooking the water. Sleeps 6+ · 3 Bedrooms · 2 Baths · Separate Guest Cottage Direct river access · Complimentary kayaks · 30 min to Virginia Tech · Pet-friendly The Layout This property is designed for flexibility — whether you’re a family, a group of friends, or a mix of both. Smallmouth bass fishing is excellent year-round, and trophy muskie are regularly landed on this section. Complimentary kayaks are included — fish at sunrise, float in the afternoon, and never leave the property. Our family had a wonderful weekend visit at the cabin. We came to see our nephew at VT. The distance between was perfectly described. We came in at night due to a closure on Rt. 81. So the extra directions sent in our check-in message were very helpful to find the property. The neighborhood is rural and dark at night. But we made it just fine. The house was as expected and the pictures were spot on. We enjoyed the hot tub (it was very clean and not over chlorinated). There were even 'Tub Towels' found in the linen closet. We adventured up the river in the kayaks and a tube. We relaxed on the dock and decks enjoying the view with peaceful places to read. Yes, there are trains that pass by on both sides of the river, but we live near a city and compared to the street noise we have, the trains were very quiet. We cooked dinner and breakfast getting supplies at Walmart. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cooking and baking supplies we needed. We will definitely return.
Karen, thank you so much for reviewing your stay with us! We sincerely appreciate your feedback, and hope to host you again sometime soon!
