The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean, but unfortunately the room wrecked of mildew and mold and we were unable to get any sleep due to being so stuffed up from the air quality of the room. Despite our effort of opening a window and running hot water down the drains we were still not able to get rig of the smell. There was so communication from the staff other than a text with instructions on how to enter and the lobby wasn’t open to communicate our complaint. If you are air quality or smell sensitive I would not recommend this property.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay at Barefoot Villas. We strive to ensure our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and we’re sorry to hear we fell short in your case. Our property operates with a self-check-in system, which is explained on our website and in the messages we send prior to your arrival. While we understand you booked through a third-party platform, we do provide instructions and encourage guests to contact us if they need assistance. Our office hours are 9 AM to 6 PM, and from 6 PM to 9 PM, we’re available by phone. We also have records showing that we sent you instructions with our contact details, but unfortunately, we did not receive any communication from you during your stay. We were pleased to upgrade you to unit #7, which is newly renovated, as a courtesy because you decided not to bring your dog. We were unaware of any issues with mildew or mold in that room, as it had been newly renovated bathroom and floor. We inspected prior to your arrival. If you have any evidence of this concern, such as photos or further details, we’d greatly appreciate you sharing them with us so we can address the matter promptly. While we’re glad to hear you found the bed comfortable and the room clean, we’re disappointed that the air quality impacted your stay. Please know that we take your feedback seriously and will investigate further. Lastly, we’ve communicated with the third-party platform about your concerns, and they’ve noted that we didn’t receive any complaints from you during your stay. While we wish we could have addressed these issues in real time, we rely on guests to inform us of any problems so we can take immediate action. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope you’ll consider staying with us again in the future, and please don’t hesitate to reach out directly if you need assistance during your next visit. Best regards, Barefoot Villas teams
